Blue Lines by Toni Aleo

Goodreads Summary:
Opposites do more than just attract in Toni Aleo’s latest Nashville Assassins novel about a very bad boy and the good girl he can’t resist.

The instant Piper Allen sees Erik Titov, she wants him—wants his rock-hard body, sure, but the strength and mystery that lies behind that superstar hockey jock demeanor, too. So when he sidles up to her at a bar and slinks his arm around her waist, she’s lost. What follows is the wildest night of her life . . . followed by inevitable heartbreak the next morning. And then, a few weeks later, a very big surprise: two blue lines on a pregnancy test.

Only a check to the head could make Erik fall for a nice girl like Piper. But since their crazy-sexy night together, he’s been trying to forget about her alluring body by falling into bed with every woman in Nashville, and it’s not working. So when Piper shows up at his house with a baby-bomb to drop, it doesn’t take much for Erik to suggest the nuclear option: marriage. While it’s supposed to be all for show, the second they say “I do,” the ice between them starts to melt into sizzling steam.

Includes a special message from the editor, as well as excerpts from these Loveswept titles: Taking Shots, Trying to Score, and Empty Net.

My Review:
Prepare yourselves for this one. Start it when you have time to finish it in one sitting. I was sucked into the Assassin’s world once again with Blue Lines. I was so ready for Erik and Pipers story. Piper is pregnant and the baby is Erik Titov’s. Erik never wanted a wife or a baby. He was content with living life by partying and hooking up with females. So he was pretty shocked with Piper came to him and told him about the baby. He’s already with trouble with Ellie, the team owner, for his bad press and now this. He might lose his spot on the team because of this. Piper is scared and doesn’t want to do this alone but, she will if she has to. I can tell you this. I have never been more frustrated with a character. Erik made me so angry and happy at the same time and it was hard to handle!! The way he does things and the things he says sometimes….just UGH! His childhood plays a huge role in why he is like this. So don’t give up on him! Will Erik be able to be the man and father Piper wants him to be? Could he ever really love her or will his insecurities ruin them?

Piper Allen is probably my new favorite female character in this series. She is going through so much yet she manages to be insanely strong. She puts up with a lot of Erik’s crap while being pregnant. She has so much faith in him and is always in his corner. Erik doesn’t understand how she does that. How can she love him like that? She is so full of girl power! In particular when she goes nuts and destroys some electronics with a hockey stick I was all like hell yea! She knew what she wanted and she saw something in Erik that he didn’t even see. She is definitely his undoing that’s for sure.

Erik is a broken man. His childhood has shaped him into the man he thinks he should be. That is what kind of ruins him. He will never love a woman so much like his father did. So much that it would destroy him if she left. He doesn’t let himself care. So when he gets closer to Piper he pushes those feelings way down. Lucky for him, Piper is a strong woman and won’t take his crap. She calls him out. Without her I don’t think he could ever change. He really is soft inside. There were times when I wanted to strangle him and times when I cried for him.

I have to throw this in because Tate and Audrey’s wedding vows were so beautiful that I cried like a baby. I think I will always love Tate! I meant their wedding was insanely eventful!

This series just keeps getting better and better with each book. I have loved each book, all amazing stories. Toni Aleo has a gift for writing and I hope we will get more from the Assassins!!
